   FAQ / WHY?

Build over the Canals

Several areas of the proposed BorderTransportationSystem route follows the U.S.A. / Mexico border and canals that also parallel the border. Canals are open ditches that transport fresh water to towns and farms and in the south and southwest the sun shines brightly and much of the canal water is lost to evaporation.

If the BorderTransportationSystem is built over the canal where it is close to the border, then the structure could help prevent much of this evaporation. The canal water would or could act as an air conditioning for the interior of the 'T' towers, and thus save energy, and since the water is protected it would not pick up dust, animal and bird feces, or other pollution.

There are a few border area canals in Mexico, they would have to consider if they wanted to build over each, and thus move the border residents.
