Farming and Ranching The American/Mexican border has existing farming and ranching, but these are limited due to scarcity of water and transportation.  There has to be a fast method of getting produce and animal meats to market and the BorderTransportationSystem can supply that way by using high-speed rail and specialized containers that can be loaded and off-loaded in minutes.   The BorderTransportationSystem contains pipelines for the transport of fuel and salt water.  This water can be desalinized to produce water for irrigation and other use; there would have to be the stipulation that users ONLY use buried drip irrigation.  Water will be available but still be limited thus conservation is required.  In areas of vast fresh water supplies, then additional smaller pipelines can be added to the system for delivery within a hundred or so miles of the water source.   The water supplied to farms and ranches will be billable water, the proceeds used to pay for the pumps, pipeline, and desalinizing.  Index of ...
