   FAQ / WHY?

Outdoor Sports

The route of the BorderTransportationSystem goes through Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park, two areas where boating, biking, and rock climbing are allowed in limited quantities.  The areas currently have limited resources for visitors, but when the BorderTransportationSystem is built, there will be many more opportunities for visitors to do 'day trips' to the area and thus, there will be a need for more resources.   Fees can be charged for the transportation on the high-speed highway and rail system, for the permits to fish and hunt, for the permits to boat the Rio Grande, and for permits to climb the many great climbing locations.

The BorderTransportationSystem also opens up private opportunities for ranchers to offer hunting, bird and wild animal watching, hiking, horseback riding, wagon-rides, shooting ranges, ATV use, rodeos, dirt bike racing, and much more.  The system can make money with the transportation, electric power, water, and a small use fee on each permit, or ranch visitor.
