Solar and Wind Energy Production The entire BorderTransportationSystem depends on low cost energy used for all the electrical needs of the high-speed highway, high-speed rail systems, pumping systems, Rest Areas, signal and monitoring systems, water desalination and purifying systems, etc.  Low cost electricity that is essentially Green and Non-polluting depends on sunlight and wind, two items that are in abundance along our Southern Border with Mexico.  The design of the BorderTransportationSystem is such that every square inch of every mile of the route is a power generator / collector.  If additional power is needed, it can be from existing power source grids, and if more is needed, then state government, military, or private industry can step-in and create solar and wind farms for profit. The intent of the BorderTransportationSystem design is to produce an excess in power that can be sold to factories, farms, towns, and cities along the route and thus, help pay for the construction, maintenance, and future replacement of the system. Nighttime use of the system will depend on power from existing grids, which will probably come from nuclear, geothermal, coal, oil, or natural gas electric generation sources.  This may result in a cost to the system and the consumers, but if enough excess power if generated during the day, then it can be sold to the traditional power companies, and the proceeds will be able to off-set the nighttime power cost.
