China's Role in High Speed Rail It is disappointing that America the country that pioneered High Speed Rail and the People Mover systems failed to understand the economic advantage of promoting it, and thus the potential for employing tens of thousands of Americans for building HSR services.  America gave the technology to Europe, which in turn gave the technology to Japan and now China.  The world is developing and countries around the world are in dire need of high speed transportation, and are now outsourcing to China for their HSR systems, a market we in the U.S.A. / Mexico / Canada area should be controlling.
