Natural Gas Power Source Natural Gas is a major contributor to our energy consumption in the U.S.A., and it can be used for some of the High-Speed Rail Engines on the BorderTransportationSystem.  It can also be piped in to the rest areas, border patrol stations, and towns along the route.  Gas leak detectors and scheduled inspections will be required along the route, and the pipeline with the detectors will be the responsibility of the company supplying the gas.  The BorderTransportationSystem will oversee the operation, and have monitoring and emergency shut-down privileges.
