Sierra Club - Grand Canyon Chapter

"Sierra Club is one of the oldest and most influential grassroots environmental organizations in the United States. The Grand Canyon (Arizona) Chapter was formed in 1965 in order to focus attention on stopping dams in Grand Canyon. Our work to protect the Colorado River and Grand Canyon National Park continues today and has been joined by a number of programs to safeguard other areas and issues."

"The Grand Canyon Chapter seeks to engage its members and the public in protecting our communities; public lands, including national parks, forests, and wildlife refuges; rivers and streams; and wildlife. We also work to promote clean renewable energy and energy efficiency in order to reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change and to support transit-, bike-, and pedestrian-friendly communities to reduce air pollution and energy use."
