Food Banks
The U.S.A. / Mexican border is a path for food that is grown in Mexico or the U.S.A., and millions of tons of food is transported across the border each year. The food is not always assigned for, or paid for and much of it is available for inspection and bidding by supermarkets, farmer's markets, canneries, etc. If the food is too abundant, or priced too high, or is too old, then it may go to a warehouse where it is divided up for feeding the poor via Food Banks, or used for animal feed, or composed, or just trashed.
The BorderTransportationSystem can help save millions of tons of food by moving it from the Nogales, Arizona I-19 corridor along the border to other areas in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas that may be able to use it. The reason is that instead of days for distribution by truck transportation, the food can be transported by Mag Lev and High-speed train to the furthest locations within hours of arriving in the U.S.A..
