Bird and Animal Resistance The vehicles, either trains or passenger cars, will be traveling at very high speed and therefore, a bird strike, or crashing into an animal can be disaster for the occupants of the vehicles. The trains and the highways will be elevated so that most animals will not be able to enter the right of way, but birds can be a problem. At airports they use dogs, sound, and flashing lights to keep birds out of the way of aircraft taking off (or landing (?)). The system will be monitored by sensors and cameras along the length, so there will be some indication of a problem on the track or highway.
