High-Speed Diesel Powered Massive high-power engines that are propelled by Diesel fuel currently exist and many can obtain High-Speeds when pulling a limited number of passenger or freight cars.  The BorderTransportationSystem can accommodate these engines, but it is not recommended due to not being able to economically compete with the nearly free electric powered units that will be the primary source of passenger and freight traffic. Diesel is a fossil fuel and therefore, produces pollution, something the system does NOT want to produce, and a prime reason for solar and wind energy production along the route.
