   FAQ / WHY?

Dust (Sand) Storms

The BorderTransportationSystem will travel in areas that can be effected by Dust (Sand) Storms, and some of these storms can produce severe damage to vehicles traveling through or within these storms.

Blowing sand can effect the paint, glass, plastic, metal, and electrical components of any transport system, but when the vehicle is traveling at 250 MPH, the sand can do real damage.  There have been studies by several nations into using High-Speed Rail in sandstorm prone regions, and many of these nations have already built the systems and know the problems and cures.
