Fog Banks The BorderTransportationSystem will be computer controlled and will depend on sensors of various types to maintain speed and safety.  Fog can cause corrosion of sensors, and can cause distortion or blockage of some sensor wavelengths and video collection. The effects of Fog on transportation systems has been studied in many nations, and some have come up with partial solutions.  Seeing through Fog is difficult due to deflection of signals through the water drops.  The few sensors that do work are limited in range and therefore cannot provide stopping times needed for High-Speed transportation networks.  We offer a possible solution of detection of the fog, coupled with a five mile communications link that can signal a vehicle as soon as the fog is detected some five miles in the distance.  This can then be used to determine if the transports need to slow or continue normally.
