June 16, 2018 / update August 2019
Seeking history of the WWII era when the United States of America incarcerated tens of thousands of Japanese American citizens in detention camps throughout the American West?
You have found the history here; this book gives
the names, addresses, GPS, and locations of the Japanese, German, Italian,
Jewish, and other Interment camps that you can
visit. Some have monuments, some have museums, and some have nothing but fields
of foundations that are the only reminder of this period in our history.
I included are pictures of the Manzanar camp off US-395 in Independence,
California and the location of the 'Secret' non-government museum that honors
the detainees. Included are distances to the nearest towns, and a listing of
nearby attractions that you should also see when visiting the camps. Enjoy..
