This was written in an apartment complex in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. The furry
creatures would visit my then home, a second story apartment with a balcony.
Over the few years I lived there, I developed a unique friendship with a group
of squirrels that I first feared, and later loved as one would any domestic pet.
I do not encourage people to make pets out of wild animals, and squirrels are
wild animals that can in a heartbeat turn on those trying to domesticate each.
This little real life storybook has had over 4,000 Internet downloads in the
past; parents and teachers have used it for educating their charges in the ways
of life.
This little booklet is designed to teach children and adults that we do live
among other creatures and that they too have lives, attitudes, needs, and
feelings that need to be understood and respected. Enjoy
